Topaz

Blue topaz may be used for the Decemebr birthstone and commemorate the 4th and 19th wedding anniversaries. Blue topaz occurs in three types: swiss blue which is a bright electric blue, sky blue which is a very light blue and london blue, a vibrant dark grey blue. Topaz when used to detect piosons during the Renaissance. Topaz may also be found in a yellow color, called Imperial Topaz because of its use by the Russian imperial family in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Topaz is a member of the topaz mineral group. Topaz has a hardness of 8 and a specific gravity of 3.53. Topaz is found in Brazil, Pakistan, Nigeria, Australia, Myanmar, Mexico, Namibiaand Sri Lanka.
